Breast Pumps and Accessories

Breast Pumps and Accessories

What are Hygeia personal accessory sets made of?

Valves and diaphragms are made of silicone.  All other components are made of polypropylene.

I’ve heard that personal breast pumps are not safe for sharing, what makes Hygeia pumps different?

The instructions for use accompanying the breast pump indicates if the particular model is intended to be used by a single user or multiple users.

I’m concerned about BPA exposure; are Hygeia’s personal accessory sets and storage containers BPA-free?

All Hygeia milk storage containers and those components of a personal accessory set that come into contact with breast milk are not made with BPA.

How are Hygeia’s breast pumps eco-friendly?

All kit components can be recycled. Pump design allows efficient component separation for recycling by a qualified establishment.

How do I know what flange size to use?

Download this how-to guide to learn how to select the flange size that is most appropriate for you.

The Hygeia nipple sizing tool can also help. Order from website link.

Properly fitting flanges are important for both comfort and efficient pumping. While pumping, your nipple should move freely in and out of the flange tunnel, and there should be no rubbing or sticking on the sides or back of the flange. All of your nipple should fit into the flange tunnel, and if you feel any nipple discomfort or pain while pumping, even on low suction, it is often a sign that you need a larger flange.

Some moms find that they need a different flange size on each breast and their sizing can change over time. Nipple blanching (turning white) at the base of the nipple while pumping is another indicator that your flange may be too small. Keep in mind that flange size is not related to your breast size, but rather the size of your nipples.

Some moms will experience nipple swelling while pumping, so it’s important to observe your nipples during a pumping session to check for correct flange sizing.

We also carry multiple sizes of flanges for purchase on our website breast pump accessories in our online store.

I’ve lost a part! How can I find a replacement?

Replacement parts are available for purchase at breast pump accessories in our online store.

What should I do with my pump when I am done using it?

Take the pump to a place that recycles used electrical equipment.  The kit can be disposed of in a regular plastic recycling container.

Can I check online to see if I am eligible for pump by your company?

Confirming insurance eligibility is complex so it is not available online.  But we are happy to take your information by phone and get to work on checking it for you. You can contact our team 714-515-7571 extension 1.

When will my order be shipped after I place my order on HygeiaHealth.com?

For orders purchased out-of-pocket on our Hygeiahealth.com website, please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing. We do not ship products on weekends or holidays. Orders placed through Insurance are handled somewhat differently.

What is your standard shipping method?

Our standard shipping method is Fed Ex Ground for online purchases made on HygeiaHealth.com, and Fed Ex Ground Economy for insurance orders. We can expedite shipments at the customer’s expense.

What is your return policy?

Only products which remain sealed in their original packaging with safety seals intact may be returned. These seals read “Personal Hygiene Product. Not returnable if seal is broken”. Please note that returns are only allowed if requested within 30 days of product delivery,

Returns are authorized only after the customer pays a $75 restocking fee. Once payment is confirmed, a return label will be sent.  The returned package will be inspected to ensure that the pump is still sealed in the original box with safety seals intact and that the pump meets specifications. If the product passes this quality inspection, we will credit the payment made by the insurance company or issue a refund to the customer (for non-insurance orders paid out-of-pocket).

To request a return, please contact our customer service team at 714-515-7571 extension #2 or by email at customer.service@hygeiahealth.com. Pumps returned without prior authorization by Hygeia will be scrapped, and no refund or credit will be made.

What do I do if I’m having trouble with my pump?

Call Hygeia Customer Care at 714-515-7571 extension 2 for assistance or reach out on our website. Customer Care will first try to resolve your issue with detailed troubleshooting. Most common issues are resolved over the phone when moms call in with questions about their pump. Be sure to have your pump ready (including power cord & accessories) when you call.

Should troubleshooting not resolve the problem, Customer Care will determine if the pump is still under warranty to process a return. Products not under warranty cannot be returned for replacement.

When will I receive a replacement pump?

Hygeia will email you an RMA form that must be fully completed to start the replacement process. After we receive your completed form, Hygeia will send a replacement pump via FedEx Home Delivery and will also email you a prepaid return label so that you can return the allegedly defective pump to Hygeia.

Hygeia must receive the defective product within 7 days of issued RMA.

Hygeia will inspect and test the returned pump.

If the pump is found to be defective due to a manufacturing defect, Hygeia will send you a new pump of the same model.

Why did I not get a replacement pump?

The warrant period may have expired. Hygeia breast pumps are warranted for one year from date of purchase only when purchased through Hygeia directly or from an authorized reseller. Proof of purchase is required if the pump was not purchased directly through Hygeia.

The Hygeia warranty does not apply to defects resulting from any customer actions, such as mishandling and product abuse, dropping the pump, knocking the pump over, improper interfacing, operation outside of design limits, misapplication, improper repair, or unauthorized modification.

If the pump is found to be defective due to improper use or mishandling (including dropping the pump or inadequately packaging it for shipping) you will be charged a $150 handling fee in addition to a $25 shipping charge. It is your responsibility to package your pump appropriately so no damage will occur during transit (i.e. covered with bubble wrap, flexible film, and foam). If inadequate packaging is used and the product arrives damaged, the warranty will be void and replacement will be charged accordingly.

Also, if the pump is found to operate within specification it will be returned to you at your expense.

If the pump is found to be defective due to a manufacturing defect, Hygeia will send you a new pump of the same model.
